A great deal of my work ( both Fine Art and CAD ) has been organic imagery with a large inspiration of plantlife and flowers from memorable trips which I have taken to botanical gardens in the northeast, midatlantic regions, and the west coast. One of my favorite outdoor oasis is Hillwood Estate located in Northwest Washington, DC- the former home of Marjorie Merriweather Post. Not only is the interior and its stately collection/furniture extraordinary, but the outdoor gardens along with its peace and tranquility are absolutely inspiring to both nature lovers and visual artists.

On a clear day looking through the distance beyond the trees behind the home, one can see the majestic top of the Washington Monument, which is at least four miles from the downtown National Mall. I strongly recommend a trip to Hillwood and a guided tour particularly in the months of April, May, September, and October. It is a District of Columbia gem of a property.

*On a seperate day to visit outdoor botany and vegetation, I also suggest Tudor Place and Dumbarton Oaks in Georgetown, The U.S. Botanical Garden diagonal to the U.S. Capitol on the southside of the Mall, and also The National Arboretum in Northeast Washington, all within the District.
